Lee's inaugural Father's Day

Card I posted on his Facebook wall. By Norwegian artist Dolk.
No, it's NOT a Banksy.

At the wedding on Friday we got a last-minute request for Goran to spend the following night at his grandparents' place, as it was the final chance for Lee's sister Kim to spend some quality time with her wee nephew before her and her boyfriend Dave's trip to The Kruger with my parents-in-law this week. (Lee, Goran and I are leaving for a nine-day holiday in KZN - first the Midlands, then Durbs - at exactly the same time they arrive back in Jozi, and Kim and Dave then return to the UK). Anyway, so on Sunday (yesterday) morning it was just me and Lee. I woke the old man with a cuppa tea and Part One of his inaugural Father's Day pressie...

We ended up getting home in the middle of Carte Blanche from visiting Lee's folks' yesterday (one of those days where a late lunch turns out to be an early supper), so I could only create Part Two today, when I had Goran back with me...

Part Three of the pater familias pressie to follow soon, details of which are going to be X-rated and decidedly unsuitable for a MomBlog like this, so sorry for you!

I gained another sister-in-law

(L - R) My brother-in-law Gary (the groom), my mother-in-law, Lee holding Goran, my father-in-law, and my sister-in-law Kim

Goran surrounded by his adoring Uncle Gary, Granny Marilyn, Dad, Aunty Kim, and Grandpa Nils

Kim and her boyfriend Dave. (Kim was my maid of honour when Lee made an honest woman out of me six years ago).

My two boys in bed this morning

It was frikkin freezing in our B&B unit on the premises last night (even with me, Lee and Goran all sharing body heat under a duvet and two blankies in the most divine king size bed), so before joining all the rest of the (mostly) hungover wedding guests for brekkie this morning, the three of us had a nice hot bath together. Yip, the tub was big enough to accommodate all of us at once. Best bloody fun I've had in ages!

Mohawks turned out to be the order of the day...

After breakfast I took a quick walk around the picturesque grounds and snapped a few parting shots...

Back home, getting a hello from Gretel...

...and another from Hansel.

I can't wait for him to be big enough to play with the Stafs. I just know they're going to be the best of friends.

My darling son. Four months old now, and growing lovelier by the day.

6 June 2010 - 6 June 2011

If a picture speaks a thousand words, then this five-minute video is a full-length novel.
A visual diary, if you like, chronicling the past 12 miraculous months of my life.

Needs sound. Enjoy!
